- Connect students from Colorado with other students from around the country who are in attendance at the conference - who are committed to addressing environmental issues within their schools and communities
- Exchange ideas with peers, community partners, and administrators, as well as create structures for sustainable change.
- Take advantage of unique gathering of experts and resources at the Green Schools National Conference.
- Create a collaborative space for students to build on their strengths and recognize the power of youth leadership in the larger efforts to develop sustainable learning environments.

- Student-designed toolkits for identifying and addressing school-based environmental issues.
- Select 2 student leaders and 2 local students who will report on results of the Student Summit at the February 28 Green Schools National Conference General Session.
- Develop a national infrastructure for Student Summit participants to track progress of projects initiated at the Youth Summit and to be able to network and share resources and ideas with and other high school environmental leaders.
- Develop an online “Greening your School” guide which will include step-by-step processes, tips, tools, and resources for high school environmental organizers

The cost for students and adults (chaperones) who want to participate in the Student Summit is $150 which covers:
- February 27 – student summit (breakfast, lunch and afternoon snack), Carbon Nation film and Conference Welcome Event
- February 28 & 29 - full conference badge
