Deadline to Enter: Applications are due by February 10, 2012

The $10,000 Sustainable Energy Award will be presented to the top three high schools that can demonstrate how they have engaged students and teachers in school-wide energy savings through the creative and innovative use of technology.

Disney Planet Challenge

Deadline to Enter: Registration deadline is December 23, 2011; Project Submission Deadline is February 15, 2012

Disney's Planet Challenge (DPC) is a project-based learning environmental competition for classrooms across the United States. DPC teaches kids about science and conservation while empowering them to make a positive impact on their communities and planet. DPC offers two tracks of competition: the Elementary School track (Grades 3-5) and the Middle School track (Grades 6-8)

Green Energy Challenge presented by Green Education Foundation

Green Education Foundation (GEF) is calling on educators from across the country to engage their students in energy conservation.

By improving the energy efficiency of schools, districts can cut costs without cutting corners. The Green Energy Challenge is a comprehensive educational program designed to teach PreK-12 students the science of energy, non and renewable sources and conservation strategies. This comprehensive program is comprised of several hands-on components coupled with an online library of grade-appropriate, standards-based environmental curricula. Schools can participate in the GEF Green Energy Challenge in a variety of ways. Every school that signs up is equipped with a free online toolkit to get started!

Green Your School Challenge presented by DoSomething.org and HP

HP and DoSomething.org know you have what it takes to protect the environment and fight climate change. This year over 200,000 teens took action and ran eco-friendly projects at school through the Green Your School Challenge. Thanks to them, the world is a greener place.

Green Cup Energy Challenge

Schools who take the Green Cup Energy Challenge work together to reduce electricity consumption over a period of four weeks. You will track and compare your savings during the Challenge, but your energy conservation will continue long after the results are announced. You are a winner just by participating.
